My Book Boyfriend is a weekly meme where we talk about a literary crush who makes us swoon hosted by Missie from The Unread Reader.

This Book Boyfriend is from The Jessica Darling series and my review of the first book, Sloppy Firsts, should be up soon.

Marcus Flutie is the rocker, drug-reformed poet and love interest of Jessica "Not-So" Darling. In Jessica's words: "His lips are usually curled into a semi-smile, like he’s in on a big joke that’s being played on you but you don’t know it yet." This guy is complicated and he knows it. 


I'm not sure anyone can come close to capturing the pure mystery that is Marcus Flutie, but Garrett Hedlund was who came to mind for me. He is a little old for the part, but hey, if Ian Somerhalder can play a teenager: why can't this guy?

Marcus is the ultimate bad boy. He's philosophical and broody and loves to be a bit of a puzzle. I mean, come one, he wears Backstreet Boys T-shirts just to mess with other people's heads. How can you not love that?
